Joining HG Group (Attach2/Equip2) is not just coming to do a job, it’s becoming a key part of the one team who collectively “own” the purpose, direction and growth of the business, a trusted member of the extended family. We want to be sure this is going to the right move for you and that you will be the right fit for us. So please understand that our recruitment process is not going to be quick and shallow.
We are going to take the time to really get to know you and for you to get to know us. You can expect a mixture of informal and formal interviews where you will meet a number of different people who are interested in your success with us, and we will also do thorough background checking. So here is our advice to you, if you would like to join our team:
Research our company on this website and make sure you read the Culture Book! If you are applying for a specific job, read the job description and make sure you understand the key requirements to do that job.
Show us you are serious about joining us! Make sure your c.v is up to date. If there are gaps in your employment history, give a brief explanation. Write a concise (one page) cover letter that summarises how your skills and experiences qualify you to meet the key requirements of the job. Describe how your personal values and attributes align with our culture and values. Make sure you are clear about how we can contact you.
Our first contact with you will probably be a short phone call to understand more about your current circumstances and your motivation for applying. If you are unable to answer the phone during work hours, please say so in your cover letter.
If, after an initial phone conversation we want to move forward we may ask you to visit the site where the job is based. Be prepared for this to take time, and to meet a number of people who want to get to know more about you.
We use the Predictive Index Behavioural and Cognitive Assessments to help us assess how you will fit into a role and for insights about how to support you to work to your strengths. You will need to complete this online and should ensure you have time to do this when you are rested and won’t be interrupted. For more information about the Predictive Index see here.
If we are ready to hire you, before we take that last step we will complete background checks. This will include phone calls to at least two of your nominated referees, one of whom must be your direct supervisor in your current or previous job. We will also review your social media history and do a criminal history check with MoJ. In certain roles we may also require a credit history check.
We’re always looking for passionate, collaborative and curious people to be part of our growing team. We’d love to hear from you.
